ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Students should plan to attend all rehearsals and performances. Please notify the HITS Front Desk of any known conflicts with the rehearsal schedule prior to the first day of class. Any unexcused tardy or absence may result in reassignment of material at the discretion of the production team. Two unexcused absences may result in the removal from the class.

HITS understands life brings surprises and new conflicts may arise. We encourage families to notify HITS Front Desk as soon as possible so our instructors can properly plan for rehearsals.

ATTIRE:
Comfortable clothing that allows movement and closed-toed shoes with rubber soles. Jazz shoes are recommended.

HEALTH/SAFETY:

DANA LEWIS, Lead Instructor, has been teaching and choreographing at HITS since 2008. Dana was the Resident Choreographer for Stages St. Louis for 15 years, where she choreographed over 40 productions. She was on the dance faculty for Webster University where she taught jazz and musical theater styles. Additionally, Dana has taught numerous master classes around the country. Dana is a member of Actors’ Equity Association and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. Dana attended Florida State University and has a degree in Dance.

KEITH LALONDE, Music Director, brings over fifteen years of experience as a pianist and choir director, Bachelors and Masters degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University, and a contagious smile to HITS Theatre. This production of Encanto marks Keith’s fifth summer with HITS! Currently, Keith serves as a private lesson accompanist for the musical theatre majors at Sam Houston State University. His favorite place to play is at St. Peter United, where he enjoys bringing a high energy blend of gospel, rock, and elevation style worship to a diverse congregation. Two of Keith’s favorite characters in Encanto are Isabella, who he relates to on a professional level, and Felix, who he feels he embodies on a personal one.
