3-WEEK ARTISTIC JOURNEY

You’re an artist. Now what?
This program offers students and the creative team a professional summer stock experience while exploring and expanding themselves as artists. In addition to top-notch musical theater performance training, student artists will holistically refine their artistry by attending sessions on mindfulness, artist self-care, and financial wellness under the guidance of master teachers and theater professionals.

With this three-week deep dive into Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida, students will rehearse and perform the musical in front of a live audience for 3 public performances. The capstone of our journey will include participation in a post-show strike, cast party and viewing a recording of our performance with time for a final reflection.

Can we reimagine the artistic process? After a challenging couple of years, it’s time for HITS and for artists to create a healthier way of making theater. If you’re an artist who is feeling stuck, lost or longing for a deeper and more meaningful theater journey, we hope you join us!

TECH & DRESS REHEARSALS
Attendance at dress rehearsals is mandatory. Please consult your family’s calendar before registering for this class.

Student participation in both public performances is required. Check all performance dates and times prior to registration.

TUITION:
$975.00 tuition and materials fee per student
$25.00 annual registration fee per account

AUDITIONS/PLACEMENTS:
Auditions will occur during the first 2 rehearsals. More detailed information coming. 

ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Students should plan to attend all rehearsals and performances. Please notify the HITS Front Desk of any known conflicts with the rehearsal schedule prior to the first day of class. Any unexcused tardy or absence may result in reassignment of roles and/or removal from production numbers at the discretion of the production team. Two unexcused absences may result in the removal from the production.

HITS understands life brings surprises and new conflicts may arise. We encourage families to notify HITS Front Desk as soon as possible so our instructors can properly plan for rehearsals.

ATTIRE:
Comfortable clothing that allows movement and closed-toed shoes with rubber soles. Jazz shoes are recommended.

HEALTH/SAFETY:
