FROZEN Kids (Grades 3-6) TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS
FROST CAST

Time commitment: JANUARY 9 - MARCH 3

Do you want to build a snowman? Designed for elementary school students, Frozen KIDS is a 30-minute adaptation of the 2018 Broadway musical, which was based on the 2013 Walt Disney Animation Studios film, written by Jennifer Lee and directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. The production features all of the songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by the creators of the film score, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and EGOT-winner Robert Lopez.

You’ll love this fanciful and heart warming stage adaptation of the celebrated animated film. Join Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Sven, and all of your favorite characters as they embark on an epic, ice-filled journey of self-discovery, camaraderie, and the real meaning of true love. Adapted for young performers, this musical includes favorite Frozen songs such as “Love Is an Open Door,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” and “Let It Go,” as well as wonderful new songs from the Broadway production. This production of Frozen KIDS is sure to prove that “some people are worth melting for.”

ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Because of the collaborative nature of production, absences are highly discouraged. Remember, absences affect everyone because theater is a “team sport!” Please inform the Registrar of all currently known scheduling conflicts before the start of your child’s first class or rehearsal. If there are several rehearsal conflicts, the result may impact the student's casting and/or full participation in the production. In the case of emergencies or last-minute illnesses, please contact the Registrar at 713-861-7408 or email HITS Customer Service.

The creative teams and /or the Producing Artistic Director may at their discretion reassign the role/s of any student who accrues more than two (2) unexcused absences or late arrivals to support the integrity of the production and the preparation process of the entire cast
.
Attendance during technical/dress rehearsals and performances is mandatory.

ATTIRE:
Comfortable clothing that allows movement and closed-toed shoes with rubber soles. Jazz shoes are recommended.

AUDITIONS/PLACEMENTS:
Auditions will occur during the first 2 rehearsals. All students will read lines from the script and learn a short vocal & dance combination to assess skill levels. Students are not expected to prepare anything in advance for auditions, but some have found taking private voice and acting lessons helpful to boost confidence on audition days.

HITS Theatre performance classes allow students to develop their acting, singing, and dancing skills through a traditional rehearsal process. Each production is supported by a professional director, choreographer, music director, stage manager, and designers. As an ensemble, the students each play an important role in telling the story for a live audience by learning music, choreography, and staging. Our creative team guides the students through character development, proper vocal technique while strengthening motor skills, coordination, and social-emotional learning.

WAITLIST/HOLD INFORMATION
HITS Theatre sets limits and holds on programming for three reasons: safety, quality, and diversity. Our goal is always the success of the students, to ensure a productive student-teacher ratio, and hold space for new families, gender inclusively, and under-served communities.

Should a program have a waitlist, don't be discouraged. It’s free to join the waitlist and spots could become available at any time as plans change (especially in the Summer). Simply register your participant for free by clicking the waitlist button on the class listing. If a spot is released, everyone on the waitlist will be notified by email, and then registration will be first come, first served.

*Financial Assistance is available through Scholarship Applications and Payment Plans. These applications should be submitted BEFORE registering for the class.
