Musical Theater Workshop JR (Grades 3-5)

For students in Grades 3-5, this class is a wonderful introduction to the world of musical theater that develops performance skills and prepares for the stage in a fun, nurturing environment.

In this class, students receive 30 minutes of dedicated “triple threat” training in each of the musical theater disciplines: acting, singing, and dance! Every week students will explore scenes, songs, and dances from their favorite musicals. Each workshop's theme changes, so this class is repeatable, and over several sessions, students will learn about many diverse musical theater styles and writers.

PREREQUISITE:
None. We encourage all new-to-HITS and first-time theater students to participate in this class before enrolling in performance classes.

SATURDAYS

September 12 - November 07

11:15 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.

Family observation day / Last day of class: Saturday, November 07 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

TUITION:

$270 - thru July 1, save $60! (Early bird discount only applies if paid in full)

$330 - after July 1

ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Please notify HITS Theatre of any known conflicts with the schedule prior to the first day of class. HITS understands life brings surprises and new conflicts may arise. We encourage families to notify HITS as soon as possible so our instructors can properly plan for class: [email protected] or 713-861-7408.

ATTIRE:
Comfortable clothing that allows movement, but is not distracting. Closed-toed shoes with rubber soles. Jazz shoes are recommended.

CANCELLATION:
Requests for refunds/cancellations must be submitted in writing fourteen (14) days prior to the first day of the class/program. Refunds will be granted less a $50.00 processing fee. No refunds will be offered within 14 days of the start of class, or for the annual registration fee.

Waitlist/Hold Information

WAITLIST/HOLD INFORMATION

HITS Theatre sets limits and holds on programming for three reasons: safety, quality, and diversity. Our goal is always the success of the students, to ensure a productive student-teacher ratio, and hold space for new families, gender inclusivity, and under-served communities.

Should a program have a waitlist, don't be discouraged. It’s free to join the waitlist and spots could become available at any time as plans change (especially in the Summer). Simply register your participant for free by clicking the waitlist button on the class listing. If a spot is released, everyone on the waitlist will be notified by email, and then registration will be first come, first served.

Prerequisite

Prerequisite: None

No previous experience is required.

There is also no prerequisite classes, but all new students and first-time theater students are required to register or complete this class in order to participate in a HITS Theatre production. This class can be taken in conjunction with a K - 3rd-grade production class.

All registrations are subject to approval by the Artistic Director.
